Jotaro's Star Platinum (2024)

Basic Information[]

Jotaro's Star Platinum (commonly referred as "JSP" in-game) is an Awakened tier Stand, having a B tier placement on the official Value Tier List. It is currently the rarest evolution of Star Platinum in the game.

Jotaro's Star Platinum is an extremely powerful close-range Stand with very high damage, making it significantly stronger than most other Stands. However, the trade-off for having increased damage is JSP's highly limited range, poor agility, and having only one ranged move, which is hard to land.

How To Obtain[]

In order to get this stand, you will need to use Pot Platinum's Diary on Star Platinum to get Jotaro's Star Platinum. As for it's shiny, you must use the diary on Star Platinum OVA instead.

Appearance[]

Jotaro's Star Platinum appears to be Star Platinum, but with multiple changes to it. Instead purple, it is coloured entirely black instead. Some parts and/or accessories of Jotaro's Star Platinum is coloured entirely blue such as the lining of the abs itself and the glove designs. Jotaro's Star Platinum has blue markings all over the stand's exterior.

As for Jotaro's Star Platinum's old model, it was pretty different from the current version, having the same hair as Default Star Platinum and the Jotaro's Hat accessory on its head. It also was coloured completely black (as in no details at all) with blue outlines. Just blue outlines. This includes the hat.

Jotaro's Star Platinum/OVA is simply default Jotaro's Star Platinum but with neon orange markings instead of blue. JSP:OVA shows no visible difference in accessories, cosmetics, or major changes as it has the same moves, effects, and damage as its default variant.

In the new update, JSP:OVA's appearance is updated. it's updated look is still the same as before but slightly more reddish.

Backstory[]

When Jotaro Kujo defeated Heaven Ascended Dio, his Star Platinum: Over Heaven (SP:OH) disappeared but after some time returned with a new form: Jotaro's Star Platinum (JSP). Its thematic DIO counterpart is Dio's The World (DTW), obtainable by using Dio's Skull on The World: Over Heaven (TW:OH).

• Low cooldowns for such powerful moves.
• Has the ability to Time Stop.
• Has the ability to move in other Time Stops.

Cons[]

• Only ranged move that has a long cooldown and can be hard to land.
• Limited moveset, only 4 offensive moves.
• Very little combo potential.
• Has very little effective range.
• Can be easily killed by damage reflect moves such as Frog, Return to Zero, and Love Train.
• Struggles against stands/specs with good combo potential.
• Struggles against stands/specs with greater mobility.
• Easily countered by zoners.
• Timestop can be canceled by Gold Experience Requiem.
• Lacks mobility, despite being the strongest Star Platinum evolution overall.

Battle Strategies[]

Durability - Jotaro's Star Platinum has pretty good durability. Just make sure to block during battles, as it reduces most damage taken. Remember to play defensively, though Jotaro's Star Platinum may be a powerhouse, it's still counterable. Use your block until you find an opening like barraging or Time Stop. This will help you against zoners.

Damage Output - Jotaro's Star Platinum is extremely powerful, and since it's such a powerhouse, you can kill anybody under 2 seconds. Once you are in range of an opponent, attack them immediately and don't let them escape (unless they have damage reflect). Jotaro's Star Platinum has very limited range, so don't let openings go to waste.

Using Time Stop - Time Stop is free damage, guranteed one shot if you use it correctly (approximately can do 600+ damage). Time Stop is what saves Jotaro's Star Platinum from many disadvantegous battles. Time Stop is extremely reliable, so it's best to use it when opponents are ragdolled or least expect it. However, one downside is that Jotaro's Star Platinum's Time Stop has a slight delay before occuring, giving an opening to opponents to stand jump or block, so make sure to be careful using it.

Baiting - Jotaro's Star Platinum relies on close range moves, so you need to lure your opponents closer to you. You can block while they're distancing or zoning, and then wait for an opening to use a move. Stands that can teleport or dash may be a bit difficult to deal with, but if you can time your moves, you may be able to beat them. Blocking can negate most damage done, but it doesn't really matter as long as you keep pressuring and be careful of incoming attacks. But most importantly, Jotaro's Star Platinum should be cautious of one of its biggest counters: Frog, Love Train, and Return to Zero. Jotaro's Star Platinum cannot bypass them, although being ascended through the use of Pot Platinum’s Diary. Jotaro's Star Platinum users can easily get themselves killed if they play too aggressively against Gold Experience, D4C, and Gold Experience Requiem. When facing against these stands, just do your best to bait and wait them out. If done successfully, you can counter back by rushing or stopping time.

• When Jotaro's Star Platinum is summoned, it shakes the screen a lot. (This is now removed in the revamped game.)
• Jotaro's Star Platinum is recognized and regarded as one of the best stands for PvP within the game.
