That remote costs probably 10x as much as the RadioShack one, and the RadioShack one and the Sony basically do the same. They just look different.

Re: Bedroom Home Theater Part II--my movers & shakers

I remeber when I lived in the dorms..
Soph year I bough a 50" toshiba TV, And added to it Infinity IL towers for front. IL 3 way center channel, And a set quadpole rears.. connected to a onkyo receiver. and a 10" sub... But that did not compare to my PA system that I had in the common area of the suite.. Two EV S15's, 2 Cewin Vega t36 18" earthquake Subs, A crown 100 for the S15's and A crown 2000 for the subs.. I can not count how many times I got introuble with that system.. But when we had BBQ's on the lawn it ruled.

Now that I'll be living in a Loft in NY, I'm looking into getting transducers for under the seats and some rubber isolater feet, so That you can still feel the bass with out everyone in the building bitching about it

Right now the big thing I am woundering is if I can get HDTV reception when I go back with just a little Zenith Silver Sensor antenna. I would really hate to not be able to use the $200 HDTV tuner card I just got. My plain B is to stick my B is to stick a my huge UHF Yagi under my bed.

I also need to see If I will be able to get a satellite signal though the window.

P.s. Does anyone know how easy it is to mount a shelf to metal studs?

I'm not trying to troll here, or start a flame war; but I am curious. Where do y'all get the money for this stuff? When I was in undergrad, I could barely afford my cheap-o Aiwa system pumping my black and white 13 inch tv.

Nice. Good work on the GPA. Take half that and you had my undergrad gpa. Yeah, Ebay didn't get popular until after I graduated (May '99); but I remember when it just started out. It wasn't really anything at all back then, and I was always reluctant to shop online anywhere.

How is your experience on ebay? Good prices? Good service? Scams? Do you buy from one-time sellers or people who move a lot of merchandise? I'm poor after three years of law school and am looking to get some better crap.

Mostly I sell on ebay. I pick up things at garage sales and sell them on there. It is a crap shoot, but there have been two times where I got something for $15, up it up on ebay and got $500 for it.

I sell alot on ebay and have had no problems really selling or buying! The yard sale thing is a great idea.....this may sound bad but I drive a garbage truck for a living and I can't tell you how many things I brought home and sold on ebay......the cards that go in the Direct TV boxes sell for 75 bucks a pop all day long!!!
