NASA called the activity in this type of galaxy reminiscent of the end of a pyrotechnics show show

Only ONE of the contestants got Final Jeopardy! right.

WHO IS FRÉDÉRIC-AUGUSTE BARTHOLDI?

I don’t know why they have the ellipsis in there. These three words were all that was left out at the end of the quote: “–two great republics” (per the National Park Service). Bartholdi made this remark 2 days before he attended the official unveiling of Lady Liberty. According to “The Woman Behind the Statue of Liberty”, Bartholdi’s own mother and a Roman goddess are two possible inspirations. Imagine how proud Bartholdi’s mother must have been if she was her son’s model. She was still alive when the statue was unveiled. There’s a picture of his mother on Find-a-Grave.

A 22 cents U.S. commemorative first class Bartholdi stamp was issued in July 1985. (First class stamps just went up to 66 cents in July 2023.)

Hari got it right. He bet it all and doubled his score to $15,600.

Donna responded with “the Statue of Liberty guy”. Ken found that so amusing, he wanted to give her credit for it but, anyway, it cost Donna $7,401 and left her with $799.

Matt wrote down Laboule. Perhaps he meant Laboulaye (the “Father of the Statue of Liberty”) who died in 1883. Matt lost $1,701, leaving him with $13,299. That made Hari the winner and he is the one joining Jill Tucker and David Maybury in the Thursday and Friday final games.
